About this campaign

On the evening of June 23, 2026, two newborn puppies were found abandoned at a local construction site in South Louisiana.

When they were discovered around 5:00 p.m., the tiny puppies were suffering from heat exposure. They were hot to the touch, had dry mucous membranes, and were completely alone. Their umbilical cords were still attached, indicating they were only hours old.

The finder immediately moved the puppies into an air-conditioned vehicle and gently applied cool water to their bodies and mouths before transporting them to Crossroads Animal Hospital for emergency evaluation.

Veterinary staff confirmed that the puppies, one male and one female, had no cleft palates, demonstrated strong mobility and appropriate neonatal reflexes, and showed no obvious congenital abnormalities during their initial examination.

Since entering the care of Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana, both puppies have been receiving regular feedings of canned neonatal formula and around-the-clock monitoring. They are eating well and continuing to show appropriate strength and activity for their age.

Although these little fighters are off to a promising start, the next several weeks will be critical. Orphaned newborn puppies require constant care, frequent feedings, careful monitoring, and ongoing veterinary support to give them the best chance at survival.

Your donation will help provide neonatal formula, veterinary care, medical supplies, and the around-the-clock support these two puppies need as they continue to grow stronger each day.

Thank you for helping Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana give these tiny puppies the chance to survive and thrive.

7/23/26 Update: The Tiny Puppies Are Getting Stronger

There is an encouraging update to share about the two newborn puppies who were found abandoned with their umbilical cords still attached.

These tiny babies continue to thrive in their foster home, where they are receiving around-the-clock care and regular bottle feedings to help them grow stronger each day.

Although they have made wonderful progress since being rescued, orphaned newborn puppies require constant attention, specialized nutrition, and ongoing care during these critical first weeks of life.

Donations continue to help provide neonatal formula, medical supplies, veterinary care, and the everyday essentials these puppies need as they continue their journey.

Thank you for supporting Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana and helping give these little ones the opportunity to grow, heal, and thrive.
