Abby is a 6-year-old Lab mix in Murray, UT, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery Package.

My Husband and I adopted Abby from Nuzzles and Co, a local shelter, when she was a puppy. She is about 6 years old now and has a older brother Rocky who she worries about constantly. If he leaves she cries. However if Rocky steps on her feet all bets are off. The four of us currently live in my parents home while my husband and I finish our degrees.

Abby enjoys sleeping on her bed in front of our bay window that gets afternoon sun and sunbath, until she's too hot and sleeps on the stone mantel. She communicates her needs pretty well through looks (specifically for treats and scratches, prancing (if asked the right question for her needs like potty? outside? )and sassy side eye glances for when her brother is too much.

Abby is a sassy but dignified little girl. She is very prim and proper, she hates water/snow and getting dirty. So much so that we know if a mess was made it was her brother not her as she will act completely ashamed if it was. She also loves scratches on her butt or belly, to the point where she "power noses" (aka power lift w/ her nose) our hands onto her back so she can get them.

In early March, Abby slightly tore her CCL while playing with her brother in our yard. We went and saw Dr. Smart at Bayview Animal Hospital in Farmington Utah, where she diagnosed her. We worked on losing weight and low impact exercise, we were making great progress when she twisted her knee running and tore it completely. We received confirmation by Xray that she needed surgery to be mobile again

I just graduated law school doing bar prep and my husband lost his job (COVID) and went to school full time. As such we have had a strict budget to stay afloat with little emergency funds. We just want to do right by Abby so that she can be mobile and enjoy her life fully.
