About this campaign
I’ve only had Abraham for 4 days, but I went to great lengths to save him. I flew out, brought him back home, and took him straight to the vet and ER when I knew something was wrong. He was originally named Alfie, but I chose to name him Abraham, reflecting faith and hope. He was neglected, passed between shelters, even left near train tracks, and returned by a previous owner.
Abraham is currently being treated for serious respiratory issues, including suspected pneumonia and infections, and tested positive for anaplasmosis. He is under care at an emergency veterinary hospital receiving oxygen and supportive treatment. His condition is critical, and ongoing care is needed to give him a real chance at recovery.
Abraham has a quiet strength about him. Even when he’s weak, he still tries to connect, wag his tail, and be close. He’s incredibly gentle with people and other dogs, and you can feel how much love he has to give. He deserves the chance to heal and finally experience a safe, full life.
I rescued Abraham because I could tell something wasn’t right. He seemed weak, but still gentle and trusting, and I felt an immediate responsibility to help him. It wasn’t until I got him to the vet that I learned how critical his condition really is.
