Abraham is a 6-year-old Chihuahua in Salt Lake City, UT, who needs $350 for diagnostics and testing for skin issues.

I got Abraham a year ago at the shelter. He is a Chihuahua and is 6 years old. Since then he has made me so happy. I can’t imagine my life without him, and I know he feels the same way about me when he comes to me and puts his head on my chest as he is hugging me telling me he loves me. He gets separation anxiety when I leave him.

He loves when my boyfriend gets home from work. He knows what time he gets off work so he will start listening for the door. Every little noise he hears he thinks it’s him and once he gets home he starts wagging his tail and barking at him then he starts to play with him. He likes to sleep in his bed in our bedroom or on our bed sometimes.

I am on disability and only make $900 a month. I could take him to the vet if I had help to pay for some but I don’t know that many people that are willing to help me because they don’t work.

He has been shedding a lot since November I have taken him to PetSmart to do the furminator like 5 times and each time he gets worse. I brush him every day. I’m doing what I can. I have enrolled in PAWP. They have talked to a vet and they have told me that shedding is a sign the skin is NOT healthy and this needs to be addressed. Sometimes this is due to a poor diet. It can also be mites.

He loves when the sprinklers are on outside he will go up to it and start drinking water from it. He also shows his love by putting his head on my chest like he tells me he loves me. He is afraid of big dogs. He loves to go for car rides. He knows when I am getting ready to head out the door because he sees me getting dressed.
