About this campaign

In 2019, I adopted Abu, named after the monkey in Aladdin, when he was 2. Working on cruise ships, a close coworker shared that his Golden Retriever wasn't receiving the love and care he deserved. He drove Abu all the way from GA to MI for me. These past 6 years with Abu have been amazing. We bought a house this past April, and it's just us. Life has been full of joy and snuggles ever since.

On Nov 29th, Abu began to limp, and his left leg seemed to worsen each day. I took him to the Animal Clinic of Sterling Heights and received the devastating news—my baby has cancer and needs his leg amputated. It's uncertain if this will cure him, but the vet is hopeful. They don't believe it's bone cancer (if it is then it will come back & spread) and think this will give him more years of life.

Abu loves his four-legged cousins, Sino & Uker. His fav toy is a stick, & he'll eat any treat, just offer him one & you’re his best friend! Abu is a talker & loves to howl at ambulances, tornado sirens, or when he wants a treat. He loves swimming; if there's open water, he'll find it. The best part is I’m always his first choice. His joy when he sees me & his cries when I'm away make me feel loved

I recently bought my first home & faced over $10k in unexpected plumbing costs. I'm now $1,000 deep in vet bills. I work full-time & applying for a part-time jobs but Abu needs meds every 8 hours. I need urgent help to fund his surgery and ensure his health and happiness.
