About this campaign

My boyfriend last year rescued Ace from his friend who did not have the money to provide for his basic needs. A few months after he adopted Ace my boyfriend had a house fire and they have spent the last year trying to rebuild their life. They now live in an apartment and he is so spoiled and loved.

Ace sleeps cuddled up between my boyfriend and I or with his "brother" aka my boyfriend's 12 year old son. He loves burrowing into piles of blankets and napping. He loves to play wrestle with us and he also enjoys running around outside with squirrels and bunnies. He is so fast. He is our furry baby and my boyfriend's little sidekick. He rides with him in the car all the time.

My boyfriend just got settled into a new job and is trying to catch up on all of his bills. I am a teacher, I don't make very much and the little I make barely covers my bills. The doctor said it could cost $1500-3000 per leg and he needs surgery in both legs.

Ace has a condition called patellar luxation. It is basically where his knees pop out of place and it can cause wear & tear on his leg bones. We never noticed anything wrong until a few days ago he was limping really bad and didn't want to put pressure on his back legs. We took him to the ER in the middle of the night and they said he's at stage 3 out of 4. It's really bad & it requires surgery.

All of the neighbors in the apartment building love Ace, especially the kids. Ace has been my boyfriend's best friend & a bit of emotional support partner through everything over the last year. He gave him someone to love on when he felt like he had no one. I have only known Ace for 6 months but he is a sweet little guy who deserves a chance. He means the world to my boyfriend and his kid.
