After the Devastating Fire, Help Ace of Hearts Rebuild Their Facility

On January 7th, Ace of Hearts rescue lost everything—their beloved office, supplies, dog records, and even the founder's home was destroyed in the Palisades fire. Luckily, none of their dogs were harmed. But their office was the heart of their rescue, where they coordinated care for our 70+ dogs, managed adoptions, and ensured every dog had what they needed to thrive.

Aside from their operations process, two staff members’ households were also directly affected, and they were left scrambling to find ways to replenish their resources.

On the operation front, they were scrambling to find a new office and place to recuperate, and at the same time, they were checking in with their foster network to see how all of their 70+ dogs were doing.

They utilized emergency transports and their 500+ volunteer network to deliver emergency food necessities and move 10 dogs from impacted foster homes to another foster that wasn’t in the line of the fire hazards. Due to the severity of the situation, a lot of LA residents reached out wanting to surrender their companion animals. They took in many critically injured dogs, ranging from broken hind legs and luxating patella to burns, demodex, and cherry eyes, among other injuries.
