About this campaign
A week ago my sister and I found a cat on the side of the road. She was hit by a car. We took her to our vet and she has been undergoing supportive care since. We named her Aela. We have tried to find an owner without luck. I will continue to care for her and give her a home. I was not financially prepared to take this situation on, but have been doing everything I can to give this girl a chance.
Aela is staying at Best Friends Animal Hospital in Great Falls, MT. Her condition was up and down at first, and we had to give her some time to recover and make sure nothing was wrong internally. Now that the vet is sure nothing is wrong internally and she is strong enough, they need to amputate her leg and wire her jaw. Her pelvis is also broken but the vet says it will heal with time and rest.
This wasn't my pet, and she wasn't my responsibility, but she was put in my hands for a reason. Some people said I should euthanize her, but I believed she had a chance. She's only 1-2 yrs old and could have her whole life ahead of her. I don't have the money for this at all, but I put my faith in what felt right and got this cat the care she needed. Now I'm trying to figure out how to pay for it.
I've been out of a job for a while. I just got a new job that starts on 9/3, but my financial situation is extremely tight right now. I've already put what money I do have into Aela's care and have been trying to fundraise the rest. I desperately need help.
