Aerith is a 3-year-old Siberian Husky in Johnstown, CO, who needs $4,000 for Heartworm, Dental Extractions.

Our sweet girl came into our lives in the beginning of 2020. We were prepared for her health problems when it came to her being extremely emaciated and with terrible skin due to mange, but we were not expecting her to be heartworm positive and have a mouthful of broken teeth. We started getting our bearings as she began to heal from a life on the street in the south, but then... cancer struck.

She is an integral part of our family, and is the shadow of her "mom" at all times. They are never separated. If mom is in the kitchen, Aerith is in the kitchen. Mom taking a nap? So is she. They became a package deal, so much that she is the "meat" in the family sandwich. She is always in the middle of the couch, middle of the bed, and most importantly: middle of our hearts.

We were prepared for some of her medical expenses. "Mom" is a teacher at a community college that was supposed to be teaching extra classes this summer. Both mom and dad became clinical with COVID-19 and mom lost income from classes being cancelled. They could use some help.

We first started treatment for her when we found two suspected cancerous masses on her body at a Veterinary Hospital in Windsor, Colorado. She is now undergoing heartworm treatment at a different Veterinary Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado where she will later have a major dental operation to remove her broken teeth, and then her spay.

Ari is adored by everyone she meets. She has had several veterinary staff members handle her for medical care, and each one has fallen in love with her sweet spirit. She has such a resilience about her. Even though she was emaciated, is battling heartworm disease, has overcome a cancer scare, eats every meal through a broken mouth.... she still loves with every part of her existence.
