Weighing only 3.9 pounds, Afton is a 9-month-old bundle of sweetness wrapped in a delicate frame. Heavenly Paws Shelter placed her in foster care, but not long after, she started regurgitating and was taken to the vet. Afton was diagnosed with megaesophagus, which is a condition where the esophagus becomes enlarged and loses its ability to push food down properly, making eating and drinking extremely difficult.

Due to her condition, she is now a long-term foster in need of round-the-clock support. Every feeding must be managed to prevent fluid aspiration, which can turn fatal, so monitoring is essential.

Her foster mentions that she's a delightful little girl who loves affection from people and being around other cats. Fortunately, Afton has settled in nicely to her foster home. While her journey thus far hasn't been easy, you would never know it.
