Aika is a 10-month-old German Shepherd in Tucson, AZ, who needs $1,500 for C-Section.

Aika has been my baby for most of her life. I chose her from a German shepherd litter because of her coyote ears, and she’s been the sweetest dog ever. She loves our monthly BarkBox, playing fetch, playing with her big brother Apollo, and just generally being a good girl. She’s smart, resourceful, but no quite ready for motherhood.

Aika sleeps with me and her K9 siblings in our bed - a King and Queen pushed together to make room for her 12 other siblings! She welcomes everyone who enters the home warily at first, and then with enthusiasm and joy. She loves spending time with her humans and her older siblings. Being a German Shepherd is hard, but she does a great job staying chill!

Aika has large coyote ears that stand up - she’s never really grown into them. She loves ice cream, and she always has a toy in her mouth. She loves playing with the other dogs, and she loves smelling the different scents I have on me when I come home. Aika is bright and bouncy, but calm and intelligent.

Aika went into heat early - around 6-7 months old. When she did, I had an unfixed male Great Dane in the house. I tried to keep them separate but dogs will find a way. Unfortunately they did. 3 weeks ago I took Aika to have an x-ray as I was worried she was pregnant. She was given the all clear by the vet and we scheduled her spay for 6/23/22. Today I found out she is pregnant, and almost due.

Aika is pregnant with Great Dane puppies. This can lead to countless complications and she may need an emergency c-section. I have no savings left and will be giving plasma to raise more money for her.
