Aiko is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in John's island , SC, who needs $1,100 for Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO).

Aiko joined our household as a medical foster from Charleston Animal Society in Charleston, SC. He had been owner-surrendered due to being run over by a car at the age of one year old & his previous owners were unable to afford the care needed to take x-rays. He stayed under our foster teenager's loft bed for about 3 months while he recovered & slowly started coming out of the bedroom day by day.

Aiko came to us when we were foster parents to a teenager. We told the teenager about our past fostering cats & she wanted to help. I surprised the foster teen with Aiko & explained he needed to recuperate from a car accident. The foster teen asked "you brought me a flat cat?!" & we laughed about it for years. She hoped we'd adopt Aiko because she thought maybe we'd adopt her.

Aiko is always doing funny things to make us laugh. He is a friendly & playful guy with other cats and dogs, and he has recently become companions to our foster animals that we have decided to start helping again. He helped our foster teenager decompress when she was living with us, and she later stated that she thought there was hope for her being adopted by us when we adopted Aiko.

I have radiographs from this time which may or may not indicate a small hairline fracture. Charleston Animal Society did not think he had a fracture at the time and that he just needed to recuperate which he did for several months.

We are real estate agents struggling with the seasonal slow down & rise in interest rates. We had two modest closings in December, 1 in January 2023, no closings in February or March 2023 and no future closings scheduled. We are applying for Starbucks, Lyft & Uber.
