About this campaign

Ajax (now 9) came to me at age six from the Capital Humane Society after his previous owners died. Their family surrendered him. When we met, he was quiet and displayed symptoms of depression. I was also struggling with deep depression and was seeking a companion for emotional support. We bonded immediately. We healed each other, moving past our previous struggles. He is now my joyful companion.

Ajax suffers from chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), managed with steroids, but he is having a terrifying flare-up. He is lethargic, vomiting, and has painful liquid diarrhea—he is completely miserable. He needs immediate diagnostic work and treatment at the Westgate Animal Clinic in Omaha, NE to stabilize his condition and adjust his medication protocol now.

Ajax is quirky, loving, and essential to my family. He shows affection with forceful headbutts, always rushing over to 'bonk' me, melting away stress. He is a champion snuggler; when I'm down, he's there, purring loudly on my lap. His playful demands and unwavering presence bring deep, unconditional love and peace into my everyday life.

This emergency comes at the worst time. I was recently unemployed; savings are gone. I started a new job, but won't be paid for three weeks. I cannot cover Ajax's urgent vet costs (IBD flare-up) plus rent. The stress is crushing. A healthy Ajax means everything.
