Help Akio Leave His Dental Pain Behind & Keep Smiling

Meet Akio, a beautiful 7-year-old tuxedo cat from Indiana whose loving family says he has always been a source of warmth, comfort, and endless joy. His name means “bright man,” and anyone who knows Akio would agree that it suits him perfectly. He is energetic, affectionate, and full of personality. He loves his family, his cat sister Luna, playing with boxes, and even sitting down to watch the sunrise and sunset.

To his mom and dad, Akio isn't simply a pet. He's their son. He's their anchor. He's a blessing.

But now, this bright boy is facing a painful dental condition called Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions (FORLs), which causes the body's own cells to break down the teeth. The condition can be extremely painful, and unfortunately, Akio needs surgery to remove multiple affected teeth.His procedure is expected to cost approximately $2,756, and his family is desperately trying to raise an additional $1,800 toward the care he needs.

Despite everything, Akio has continued showing glimpses of the bright, energetic personality his family loves so much. His dad says he is incredibly proud of Akio for staying strong through this difficult time. Now, they want to give their beloved boy the chance to feel comfortable again—and to keep enjoying all the little things that make his life so special.
