Akira came into my life in a very special way—I didn’t find her, she found me. From the moment I welcomed her at 3 months old, she brought so much joy and light to my home, alongside my three other rescued dogs. Akira requires specialized orthopedic surgery to correct her congenital hip condition, at Coamo Veterinary Hospital in Puerto Rico. This procedure is essential to relieve her pain, restore mobility, and prevent further damage as she grows. Following surgery, she will also need medications, rest, and supportive care to ensure a safe recovery and a better quality of life.

Akira is a very joyful little dog, and despite her current limitation she remains active and full of life. At just one year old, Akira is facing a serious congenital condition.
