Alaska is a 9-year-old Siberian Husky in Cumming, GA, who needs $1,700 for amputation and chemotherapy (osteosarcoma diagnosis).

I found beautiful Alaska through the Re-homing program....she had been abandoned by her previous owner and was being fostered in a home with a Labrador puppy, and needless to say, they weren't getting along. 😜Alaska's foster home was in Chattanooga, Tennessee....a 3 hour drive from my home in North Georgia.
So, I drove 3 hours, picked her up, then turned around and drove 3 hours home. ❤️

Alaska is my angel from Heaven. I am a single mom and I have 2 daughters, one of whom is autistic. Alaska is the sweetest, most patient dog I have EVER known. She has the best disposition of any dog I have ever known. She loves us so much, I can literally see it in her eyes. She loves her Mom very much!! Now that she can no longer get up and down the stairs, she waits at the bottom step for me.

I am a single mom and I have a daughter with special needs. I had been a stay at home mom for 16 years prior to my divorce, and I'm behind the curve as far as my career path goes as it is....I'm basically starting from scratch. 😂Alaska is my 3rd baby and I have to save her.

Alaska started limping a year or so ago and at the time it was chalked up to hyperkeratosis in her paws and arthritis. This past month she became more and more lame on her left side, then one day I heard her yelp and she was unable to stand. I rushed her to the vet and x-rays were taken, and Dr. Jandrlich (who we had just started seeing), suggested a biopsy on her left hind leg. Alaska has osteosarcoma. She needs her left hind leg amputated and chemotherapy.

Alaska talks and howls! She is also addicted to baked goods!! Before her cancer diagnosis and when she was still feeling well, she would go into the pantry and pull the loaves of bread and hamburger buns off the shelves, then bury them in the backyard! Cakes, Twinkies, rosemary-garlic loaf, you name it!
