Alektra is a 10 year old Golden Retriever in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization and Ultrasound.

Alektra has been with me almost her entire life. She was a gift from an ex I used to date and she is the best gift I have ever received. I wanted her name to be unique and different and I came up with "Alektra" instead of "Electra." She's lived with me, my family, and her other siblings since March of 2014. She has a much stronger bond with Sir Catty, a cat I rescued from the streets.

Alektra had a splenectomy done on November 18 and was doing okay up until December 6. Alektra's illness is unknown and she is getting worse day by day. She couldn't get up and was vomiting and I took her to VCA Animal Specialty Group as an emergency. She was given fluids and she felt better, but needs further testing to get to the bottom of her illness.

Alektra is my best friend. I know she loves me as much as I love her. Her love is so pure and innocent that I've never felt such love from an animal. She loves people and kids. All she wants from everyone is pets and attention. She is the sweetest and has the most gentle loving soul.

I had no choice but to bring Alektra home on Sunday night because I couldn't afford treatment for her. I've maxed out all of my credit cards, Care Credit, and spent my entire paycheck on vet bills. She's ill and it hurts knowing I can't help her because I have no money.
