About this campaign
Alex came to us over 13 years ago, almost 14 years now. We picked her from a litter of labrador puppies who were very active, she was the most calm at the time. If you watch the movie Marley & Me, you realize that calm is only momentary, lol. She has been with me her whole life. She is a yellow labrador who takes care of the house here and watches over everyone.
Alex helps to take care of and interacts so well with the cat, parrots and the other chihuahua in the household. She is an indoor dog but loves going for her walks and going outside. Her interaction with the family members is so special, she is literally a gentle giant and so delicate. She has never been aggressive one moment of her entire life.
On January 9, 2016 my home in Cape Coral was hit by a tornado, this house sustaining major damage. The next year, our area sustained damage from Irma along with the house. Recently Covid-19 has had financial impacts. To be able to save Alex would mean the world!
Alex is going through a breathing difficulty situation which is becoming emergency quickly related to her larynx. She needs the tieback surgery to fix the larynx as this disorder which affects labradors has become urgent to fix immediately. In Cape Coral there are dedicated veterinarians who help take care of animals but very few who perform this type of surgery, but luckily they will.
My dog Alex certainly has obsessive compulsive disorder (undiagnosed) for her owner - myself. She can not stand to be away from me, even during her later years. When I cut the grass, she will move from window to window watching me finish. She knows what time each day to go to the front door to wait for me to come home, she does this like clockwork.
