About this campaign

We have had Alfalfa for 10 years. We got him from a rescue organization when he was just a puppy. He and his fellow litter mates had been rescued from a hording situation. Alfalfa has moved about the country with us multiple times. Now my husband, Alfalfa, and our cat, Keeska, all live happily together in our home in Charlotte, NC.

Alfalfa loves to go on walks. He can walk forever, and he's always excited to meet friends, both furry and not, on the trails. At home, he enjoys sleeping away the afternoons and occasionally indulging the cat in a round of playtime. He loves both of his parents, but he's definitely a Daddy's boy.

My husband and I have both been unemployed since May and currently have no income coming in. We just want our baby boy to be able to live his life to the fullest. It would be so great for him to go on his walks again and to know that he is living a long and healthy life.

Alfalfa was diagnosed with cancer, a soft tissue sarcoma on his hind leg. He had surgery to remove it at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Huntersville, NC. Soon he will start radiation treatment so that it does not regrow. His radiation oncologist is Dr. Kelsey at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC.

Alfalfa is the friendliest dog. He loves people, and he will talk to anyone who passes by to make sure he gets their attention. He grew up with cats and has a lot of cat like behaviors. He uses his paws way more than the average dog and he has a tendency to purr when you pet him. Alfalfa hates thunder and fireworks, but he loves carrots and broccoli.
