About this campaign

While DoorDashing, I found Ally Cat in a CVS parking lot. She was alone, obviously very young, and limping severely. I could not leave her, so I put her in the car, took her with me to complete the order I was on, and then took her home. With the help of my brother and a neighbor I got her set up for the night. The next day we went to the vet and found she had a broken femur and needs amputation.

Ally Cat is incredibly sweet. She interacts well with my two dogs and everyone who she meets. I’ve only had her a few days but she is absolutely coming out of her shell and exploring the world around her. Now that she has a full belly and safe space to rest she is starting to play with toys and loves to purr and knead while getting head scratches and belly rubs.

Ally’s personality is still blossoming. She loves to chow down on wet cat food and knows when it’s meal time; she starts meowing as soon as she hears the can open. She’s getting more adventurous now that she’s eating and drinking and has started crawling all over the place anytime she’s put down. She’s fragile and sleeps a lot to get the rest her body needs to recover from being on the street.

Ally has a broken femur. Multiple vets have seen the x-ray and said that due to the location of the break and the total fracture of the bone, and amputation is the best course of action. Since she is just five weeks old, they believe her prognosis will be great once the amputation occurs. Without amputation she risks infection and lifelong issues.

I have been able to take care of the initial vet bills incurred from rescuing a stray and intend to care for her other health needs, but the $1200 amputation surgery is out of my financial ability. I am a social worker for a non-profit and funds are tight for me right now.
