About this campaign

Amber arrived at South Pacific County Humane Society in January under heartbreaking circumstances after her owner was arrested for gun-related crimes. Local law enforcement suspected abuse and brought her straight to safety. Her condition shocked everyone. Severe skin injuries suggested chemical burns and immediate intervention was needed.

She was hospitalized for three days with fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication. Her condition was so fragile, she couldn’t be touched. Once stable, the team carefully trimmed her fur and began the delicate process of cleaning her wounds. Every step forward came slowly, but Amber never gave up.

As she healed, Amber’s gentle nature began to shine. Calm, affectionate, and patient, she quickly became a favorite among staff and volunteers at the shelter. One kind volunteer offered to foster her and couldn’t bear to say goodbye. On May 6th, Amber’s journey came full circle with her official adoption.

Amber’s emergency care cost over $2,000, a significant amount for a smaller shelter. Because law enforcement brought her directly to the South Pacific County Humane Society, they assumed full responsibility for her care. Donations will help cover her medical expenses and ensure the shelter can continue helping animals in crisis.
