About this campaign
Living on the streets, starving, and neglected, that's the life Amber, a 14-year-old Chihuahua was living until one day she got picked up and taken to a Miami animal shelter. Her adoption chances were slim; who could afford the medical care this sickly senior dog needed?
Luckily for Amber, True and Faithful Pet Rescue heard about her case, and the nonprofit group became the hero she needed. "She was emaciated, and her skin was in awful condition," Lisa L., with the rescue, tells Waggle.
They raced Amber to the Davie Veterinary Clinic. The medical team discovered she needed urgent surgery for a dental procedure and to remove masses in her abdomen and vulva. Lisa says Amber has likely been mistreated for a long time, and now, with your help, they want to give her the best future.
"Given the tough life she's had, Amber is a little scared and distrustful of humans because she's never been treated with love and affection," Lisa adds. "Now that she's finally receiving the care and attention she deserves, it's hopeful that she'll start to warm up and get on the road to recovery so she can be adopted into a loving home. She just needs a second chance."
