About this campaign

Ambrose (aka Piggy) was adopted from East Tennessee Pitbull Rescue as a four-month-old pup. He had been found by an animal shelter on the side of a road in South Carolina, riddled with scabs, fleas, and a nasty head wound. Little did his parents know the uphill medical battle he would climb. Early on, issues with his back legs brought him to hydrotherapy at the University of Tennessee vet clinic.

A UT vet speculated he came from a puppy mill, and when the breeder discovered Piggy's leg/joint problems, he tried to kill him with a blow to the head.
As Piggy grew up, his parents learned that this head trauma most likely led to his violent seizures. Piggy has since had several surgeries on his legs and is on daily medication for his seizures and joint pain.

He's the absolute happiest, most adorable dog on the entire planet! At least his parents think so. :) In the face of so much pain, abuse, and medical issues, he is such a happy boy and loves his older sissy so much! (Chloe, 15 yr old black retriever)

The most recent surgery was a TPLO on his rear right leg that has helped tremendously. The wonderful people at Blackford Veterinary Surgery Referral would like to perform the same operation on the other rear leg to keep his knee from regularly popping out of place, and now, his parents would greatly appreciate financial support to do so.

We have just passed the 12 week mark from his other rear leg and with surgery, exams, x-rays, etc. it has cost around $4500-$5000. Hearing that he really needs the other leg done puts us ($10000) at a challenging juncture. We are so grateful to ANYone who wanted to join us.
