I rescued Amethyst and her brother JoJo when they were 2 months old .They turned 7 on April 1, 2020.They are my world! They were both healthy when I rescued them. When Amethyst turned 2, she was diagnosed with 6 chronic medical conditions. She is presently battling Asthma, Glaucoma, Severe Dry Eye, Diabetes, Arthritis, and Acromegaly. She is my tough, beautiful survivor.

Amethyst and her brother JoJo are very close. They are my very loving and snuggly. Amethyst is very shy and tends to hide from people visiting, JoJo welcomes everybody!!! She is very playful and constantly kissing her brother.

Amethyst needs her monthly exams and eye medications because the Sequestrums if gone untreated can explode and cause a loss of sight I would greatly appreciate financial help with this. I receive a very SMALL SS income every month.

All of Amethyst's conditions are chronic and need to be treated on a 24/7 basis. She presently has developed Corneal Sequestrums on both Corneas. Because of her other medical conditions, she can not be treated with a procedure that would require anesthesia; therefore, Dr. Donohue will be treating her monthly with exams and medication. Dr. Donohue is our Animal Eye Specialist.

I lost Alcyone, my cat of 15 years suddenly on April 12, 2013. I was devastated!! A friend of mine was fostering a feral mom and her 5 kittens. She suggested I come and see them. Well, I decided that whichever kitten came up and slept on my lap that they would be mine to rescue. Those two beautiful little ones are now my Amethyst and her brother JoJo.
