Starving, weak, and desperate: Ami needs you!

At the start of October, SDS helped with a rescue case that broke their hearts. Ami was found near a local supermarket in Iloilo, Philippines. She wasn’t begging or causing trouble—just quietly searching for food. Starving, weak, and desperate, she was met not with compassion but with cruelty. Someone threw stones at her. When SDS saw the photos and videos of her, they broke down in tears.

She was so severely emaciated that it’s a miracle she was still standing. Every bone in her body was visible. It truly looked like she only had days, maybe hours, left to live. That image has stayed with them since. Thankfully, their partner was able to reach her in time. Ami was rushed to the hospital, where she has been receiving intensive care ever since.

During her check-up, vets discovered a massive tumor in her private area. She was immediately started on chemotherapy, and she has now completed her third session. Because they had to pay for all six sessions in advance, they were unable to complete their fundraising efforts beforehand.

SDS urgently needs your help to recoup those costs and cover her ongoing hospitalization, which remains unpaid.

And the good news is that Ami is showing signs of progress. She's gained weight and continues to fight.
