About this campaign

Annie was found as a stray wandering with her nine puppies. They were all taken to a nearby shelter. Her puppies were quickly rescued or adopted, as cute puppies are, but Annie, on the other hand, was left behind. Thankfully, US Dog Coalition and Rescue stepped in to help.

Annie's poor five-year-old body is riddled with trauma, both mentally and physically. She was so shut down by the time she arrived, that she needed to be carried into her foster home. She was set up in a quiet room with windows all to herself, but remained motionless, only moving when she was flinching at movements or noise. She only snuck food or bathroom breaks when nobody was watching her.

At her vet appointment to evaluate her physical health, she sadly tested positive for heartworms. She also has a residual wound that she came to the shelter with. It is assumed that it is a bite mark of some kind. Likely one she received defending her 9 puppies as a stray.

US Dog Coalition is determined to teach Annie that she deserves a good life, a life she should have had from day one. Thankfully, the good life has started, filled with safety, love, and kindness, but she is having trouble embracing it due to her past traumas. Please consider donating today to help Annie heal.
