Annie is an emotional support mini dachshund, a best friend, and the last thing I have in this world. Years ago I lost my true soul mate to sclerosis of the liver. I was devastated and never thought I could love again. Annie changed that. Annie provides me with my companionship and unconditional love each day and if I lose her my world would end. She is my everyday since I am a shut in senior.

Annie has a tumor growing on her mammary gland that has continued to grow just like her mother had. I can not afford to have it removed myself so I have cared for it the best I can until now. The vet said it must be removed or I may lose her. It may be cancerous. The surgery is more than my income for 2 1/2 months and I am devastated. I can’t lose her. Other than this she is healthy.

Annie keeps me calm and sane when I am alone everyday. I do not have the chance to leave my home except to take her outside and take her for short walks around our yard. She provides me with affection and companionship where I don’t receive them because my family is not close by. With my psychological health withering away, Annie is there to provide the calm that I need to keep me going.

I am a senior that has many health conditions that have made it so I am unable to work for over 13 years. I live on the baseline social security and a very little stipend of food stamps. I provide for Annie and myself but have very little left after basic expenses.
