Annie is a 9-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Powell, OH, who needs $1,690 for ER Visit and Cardio Specialist Visit.

Because my young daughters wanted a dog, my ex-husband surprised me and brought Annie home, a 4 month old (now 8) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I had never owned a dog and it was love at first sight. Because she's an English breed we named her Anne Boleyn, but we call her Annie. We were watching the series The Tudors at the time and she was my favorite character so the name was fitting.

Annie sleeps on our laps, bed or couch, but always with us or her open crate. She is a lap dog through and through. She loves to walk at Highbanks State Park where she wades in the river, and enjoys her large fenced yard. To get our attention she wags her butt and tail aggressively, sneezes and sometimes whines. She lives in our house with me and her two human sisters who love her dearly.

Annie loves to watch TV like a human. While watching TV she barks at animals on the screen as if she trying to attack them and being territorial, but she wouldn't hurt a flea. Annie loves to travel and goes everywhere with me, even the grocery store. Unyieldingly loyal, loving and affectionate with an uncanny ability to sense one's emotions, she has definitely enriched and brightened our lives.

After being in the ER for several hours it was determined that she was not in heart failure, but does need to see a heart specialist, has an enlarged heart and murmur. It may be treatable simply with medication and she could live 3-6 more years, but there's no way of knowing without the exam. Two nodules were also discovered and hopefully they aren't cancerous. We'll see--need prayers.

Since my divorce, finances have been extremely difficult. My ex-husband left us in financial ruins and has not assisted me financially in any way. I am currently unemployed, actively seeking employment and my family does not have the ability to assist me.
