Annika is a 6-year-old Siberian Husky in Oakdale, MN, who needs $650 for Annika’s Wellness Plan.

Annika came into my life when she was 8-weeks-old. She moved from the house she grew up in where we are living now where she has space to run and other animals to keep her company. She came from a family in northern Minnesota near Duluth. I did a random search online for puppies for sale and her picture popped up and I drove the 3-hour drive from Minneapolis to meet her and bring her home.

Annika is loving and always greets me and the guests that walk through the door. She can hear the garage door open and she sits there until you open the door so she can kindly greet you. She loves everyone and is the sweetest dog. When she meets another dog, she lays down with her tail wagging to ensure she doesn’t intimidate them. She wants to make sure she meets everyone and every other dog.

I lost my job at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and have not been able to keep up with her health needs. I’m also a student with tuition to pay which provides an even bigger burden. Annika is my priority and it’s a challenge balancing the current financial strain.

Annika is due for a physical examination, vaccinations, and medications she takes daily/monthly. She is also in dire need of a dental cleaning, as she is severely overdue. I’ve raised Annika since she was 8-weeks-old but when we made the move she grew very close to another family member in our household. So, I know when I’m not here she is taken care of as if I were there. She has certain sounds and facial expressions she makes when she wants/needs something. It could be a calm howl for food or tapping her paws on the ground to let us know she wants to go outside.
