About this campaign
3-month old Antonio was found lying on the side of the road after he had been tragically hit by a car and left all alone, nobody stopping to help him. Eventually, a Good Samaritan stopped to pick him up, and took him to the local shelter. The shelter barely had the funds to take x-rays of his legs and was desperately trying to find a rescue to take him in.
US Dog Coalition and Rescue came across Antonio and rushed to his aid without hesitation, knowing the medical expenses to help him could potentially exceed their available funds by many thousands of dollars. Although, the rescue did not expect a price tag of "minimum $10,000" to correct Antonio's broken legs on the right side of his body, both the front and back legs.
Antonio is a very smart and eager-to-please kind of puppy. He has so much love to give, and we are so heartbroken to see him lying in his crate all day since the splints immobilize him. In order to properly heal, he unfortunately has to be slightly sedated to stay calm. Without surgery, poor Antonio will have to suffer for an additional 6-8 weeks with weekly bandage changes and in pain.
US Dog Coalition and Rescue will never stop helping dogs in need, no matter how steep the cost may be. $10,000 is a HUGE amount of money for a smaller rescue. Please consider donating to Antonio so that we can continue our mission.
