Anubis is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Waynesville, MO, who needs $7,000 for Modified Maquet Procedure on Both Back Knees (MMP).

I walked into our local shelter to take a stray dog that showed up at my house, The last dog I had got killed by a speeding car and I swore I would never go through that pain again but then I saw Anubis. He stared at me with the brightest, happiest eyes and instead of barking, he yodeled. I don't speak dog but until the day I die I swear he just told me that I belonged to him now.

In June of 2025 Anubis started limping on his right rear leg. In October he started favoring his left rear leg. In February he started walking on 3 legs and had trouble standing. I took him to my vet for x-rays and they told me that he had torn cruciate ligaments in both back knees and was referred to Osage Animal Hospital for MMP surgery which will be done by Dr. Leek.

I live alone and Anubis is my constant companion. He stays extra close when I don't feel well. He gives me a sheepish look when he's been bad. Say the word ride and he's ready to get into the truck looking out the window. He loves my brother's two dogs and if I say their names he runs in circles looking for them. He loves belly scratches. Say the words "where is it" and it's keep away time.

When I turned 65, years of working construction finally caught up with me and I had to retire. So right now it's just me, Anubis and social security. If Anubis doesn't get this surgery, his quality of life will continue to decline. I am asking for any help you can give.
