Apollo is a 7-year-old American Bulldog in Old Orchard Beach , ME, who needs $2,000 for CHOP Chemotherapy plan.

7 years ago we rescued Apollo from a life of abuse and neglect. He was beaten hurt and needed lots of love- it took him a year to feel safe and wag his tail again. He has finally forgot the past life he came from and now is an extremely happy playful puppy. Everyone who meets him instantly loves him and says he has a good heart.

His favorite things are beach walks, swimming, fishing, going on boats and rides. He is a shadow to my husband following him from room to room. We wake up everyday to Apollo in our faces, making cute noises and nudging us to wake up. He wants love and pets as much as possible, he is a big sweetie. He is also an excellent guard dog when I am home alone, he makes me feel very safe.

Well going though Covid 19 we are financially strapped. My work is closed and my husband's work is currently per diem when needed. We are living off or savings until we can go back to our normal income level. Nothing would mean more than to have our dog in remission.

Last week Apollo was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer. His oncology doctor is Gail D. Mason at the Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care. The oncologist work out of the specialty care department. They say the CHOP chemo plan is his best hope for remission. We do not want to lose our beautiful boy, even to have him a few more years would be a blessing.

Apollo sings to songs that we do not even listen to so he actually has his own playlist now. He puts his cold wet nose on our faces in the morning, while making huh huh noises. He loves to sleep all four legs up. When you stop petting him he nudges your arm or paws you for more pets or belly rubs. He growls when he’s displeased with something. He rolls down his own window in the truck.
