Apple is a 3-year-old Dachshund in Chatsworth, CA, who needs $1,500 for urgent surgery.

Sara R. saved Apple off Craigslist, and the sweet pup blossomed into the most amazing dog.

"Apple is so special because of her spunk and love of life," Sara tells Waggle. "But something that makes her stand out is her love to swim and fetch the ball in the pool. When apple looks at you wide-eyed with her brown and half-blue eyes, you can't help but give her all your love and attention."

But suddenly, three days ago, Apple's backside became paralyzed. She is rapidly losing feeling in her toes. Sara paid $5,000 for an MRI to find out Apple needs a $9,000 surgery to walk again. That steep price is not something Sara can afford.

"The cost of this surgery is astronomical and unreasonable for most households," Sara says. "I work as a waitress in a restaurant, and to come up with $14,000, plus the needed physical therapy, is extremely hard."
