About this campaign

Apricot, 4 years old, came to me as a foster after I lost my job. She was the longest resident at her shelter despite being perfectly behaved and loving to adults and kids. The moment I brought her to my apartment she jumped on the couch and buried herself under a towel I gave her. Now she continues to walk around with the towel around her neck. She has been my constant companion ever since.

Shortly after coming home, Apricot started limping. Shelter vets didn’t x-ray her since she was still walking. After adoption, an x-ray confirmed a torn ACL requiring urgent TPLO surgery at Boca Veterinary Clinic. Insurance won’t cover it due to pre-existing classification.

Apricot is truly endlessly loving, playful, and loyal. She adores her peanut butter-scented ball and beef-scented rubber bone, tossing and catching it herself. She’s never had an accident, even when her tummy hurt so much that we went to the ER, because she alerts me each time. Her quirks and cuddliness make her impossible not to love.

After losing my job, Apricot’s unexpected medical bills drained the funds I’d saved for her upwards of $5,000 surgery. Raising this money will restore her mobility and allow us to enjoy many healthy, happy years together.
