April is a 12-year-old Border Collie Mix in Elk Grove Village, IL, who needs $1,500 for Exam, Vaccinations, Testing, Removal of Skin Growth and Ultrasound of Heart.

April's mother was pregnant. Her daddy brought her home from the woods of Appalachia where she den under a trailer in the.woods SHE was the only female in a litter of 8. The owner could not care for her. She moved to my son's trailer, but he too was too poorto care for her. However she was spayed. But the dirty pen infected her. A neighbor killed one dog by beating it. We came as a rescue

We brought the dog from Ohio to southern Illinois. My granddaughters named her April because it wasApril 1st. April developed a fever that night . I demanded my son-in-law bring her to the vet. The next 2 years were awful for April.. and my daughter. They tied her outside on a chain all day . Later, there was a divorce. I came from Chicago, they were downstate, and took April

Here ,April flourished. She loves to run. All my neighbors Love her. She loves them. We teasesd her that she was bringing the cows home. She is a very loving , happy, dog. When you come home she runs in circles so happy to see us. However, last year, April developed congestive heart disease. Jim and I only have Soç ial Security to live on and therefore can not afford vet care she needs,

April's vet retired just as her medical condition occurred. We have been going to the Bensenville Vet but the vets seeing her keep changing. April was also born with a sprained leg that has arthritis. She can't run without passing out so she actually controls her excitement when she is happy.
All we are trying to do now...Is ,Keep her swelling down w meds and control pain & keep her content.

Jim and I are living on Social Security. Jim's
extra job disappeared He has had 2 major surgeries this year and looking at possibly 1.more. I have numerous arthritis conditions that limit me. We just need a little help. We love April. we want her last days, comfortable.
