About this campaign
My mother adopted April when she was 5 years old and I was around 17. Once I moved out, April came to live with me as she was my pet because she attached to me and I attached to her very strongly. She lives in a spacious apartment and has a new puppy brother. Me and my partner both care for April and the puppy and she is spoiled with love and attention every day.
April loves people and attention. She is sweet and kind to anyone who gives her that attention and will sleep on anyone who lets her. She sleeps snuggled in between me and my partner at night under the blankets and you can find her either sleeping under a blanket or playing with her brother at any time.
I am currently unemployed and a recent college grad. With a new puppy, I have had many costs come up along the way. I also have a disability with comes with chronic pain and inhibits my ability to work full time. This unexpected cost has been a cause of stress and struggle.
April is a chihuahua and often with that comes dental disease. She has had teeth pulled in the past. She was playing with our puppy when they must've collided and knocked her teeth out of place. They bled and stuck straight out but the emergency vet said they couldn't do anything dental so we rushed to get an appointment for surgery and luckily a last minute cancellation gave us a spot for care.
April is the only pet I have had that I built such a strong connection with that inspired my love for dogs. She shows love, attention, and excitement and clings by my side all the time. She protects me and makes me laugh every day. She loves to give me kisses and snuggle up together and wag her tail as fast as she possibly can.
