About this campaign

Hi my name is Wendy, I have had the privilege to be mom to 11 Dachshunds. Arabella is 9 1/2 yrs old. she has been with me since she was a baby. All my girls have brought so much happiness to my life,. of course heartbreak is an unfortunate part of dog love. Arabella is the most human of my girls . She is very thoughtful and kind. I am not a very social person and Belly is the best friend I have ever had. In fact I am on disability because of a nervous breakdown years ago. I have a severe panic disorder. My husband got hurt at work and was forced to retire. So we no longer have any financial stability. But I have my girls. And my girls keep me going. I have 3 doxies right now. Bell lost one of her sisters 6 mos ago. It was devastating. Jessica has been with me almost 17 yrs. She is my little princess, but Bell is my buddy. We have had many adventures together. Before she got sick she was my walking buddy, now because she has difficulty breathing she doesn't want to excersize at all. She has gotten very overwieght, which is especially bad for a doxie. Belly is so sweet and loving. Dachshunds generally are loving, in Bells case she loives me because I'm me. She tries to take care of me. She stares at me all the time. and she insists on sleeping in my clothes when I go out. I don't think anyone has ever loved me as much as Bell does. And because I know her eyes so well, I know they are sad right now. I've had all kinds of doxies from all kinds of backrounds. Belly is the only one that doesn't put herself first, which is unusual in the dachshund world, she truly is the best friend I have ever had. She especially likes when I tell her stories. Her favorite is the one when we found each other. She is a worrier but she has always been very happy. She has always had sparkle in her eyes, and the sparkle is fading. It is heartbreaking. Bell has always been there for me. And I feel helpless that I can't afford the test she desperatly needs. I have done everything I could think of to make her feel better. It is now beyond my capabilities. Now I pray and try to make her as happy and comfortable as possible. Of course she sleeps with me and it's very hard to listen to her difficult breathing all night and not be able to help. I just reassure her that I'm here. I need to find out what is wrong with her so she will hopefully be able to be treated. Belly has many more years left to be my buddy. It's unfortunate that everything comes down to money. Even loving a pet. If only love was enough.
