I wanted a dog my whole life. My mom never did. So when I moved out and had any of my own space, the first thing I did was get a dog! I adopted him from his rescue and we were in love immediately. That was over 7 years ago now, which feels both like not enough time and forever. Back then, we shared a single room. Now, we have our own house and he's a doggie sister and cat siblings that he loves.

Archie loves to sleep in bed with mom and dad. Not just in the bed, though; he also needs to be under the covers with his head on a pillow. He's so smart that he thinks he's a person, and should be treated liked one too. He loves to put his toys in the toy box and get them out all over the floor too. He's taught his doggie sister everything she knows and she worships the ground he limps on.

Our boy loves the snow, running in it with his mouth open like a snow shovel. He loves to argue with us, rolling on his back with his legs crossed in the air fancily to show us he means business and we better just give him what he wants. This dog is so filled with personality that its hard to believe he's just a dog. Though to us, he isn't.

Early in the Fall of 2023, Archie's cranial cruciate ligament was ruptured and he required emergent surgery to the tune of $5,000. Right before a full clearance for his recovery, he began to limp on the opposite side. We had him evaluated at Pennsylvania Vet by the Ortho vet on staff and he confirmed our fears. The boys other ligament ruptured and he needs another surgery...

It cost $5,000 then and it will cost $5,000 now. We did not have it then and we have it even less now. There is no more money to borrow. We do not qualify for any loans or care credits. Our taxes will be in soon but we have to pay property taxes. Or lose our home.
