Ariel is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Apex, NC, who needs $2,000 for Amputation and/or Chemotherapy.

I adopted Ariel from Cause 4 Paws in August 2022, when she was about to turn 7 years old. We met at an adoption event at a bottle shop and it was love and belly rubs at first sight. I had been wanting a dog for a little while, having had dogs my whole life. Her name is the name she has had since her owner before me, who was no longer able to care for her and I decided to keep it.

This year has been a hard year for Ariel. She had a growth removed from her foot early this year and never quite bounced back with arthritis developing shortly after. She has recently been diagnosed with cancer and we are weighing amputation and chemotherapy as options. Grace Park Animal hospital is her primary vet and Blue Pearl is the oncologist she sees.

Ariel has been my main source of joy for the past 2.5 years. She has been with me through multiple life transitions and challenging times. She is the sweetest doggy, who loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. She has been my protector and best friend. She used to love to go on long walks, to the dog park, and wade in the water.

I am a social worker and with her medical challenges this year and my own over the past few, I have no savings or income to cover the cost of the diagnostics, or whatever course of action we take and am in significant debt as a result.
