About this campaign
Sweet senior cats deserve comfort in their golden years—not a medical emergency. Artemis, a beloved senior cat in the care of Adopt a Cat Foundation, was recently rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital after showing alarming signs that something was seriously wrong.
She was repeatedly going in and out of the litter box, straining to defecate five to six times without success. On her final trip, Artemis vomited bile, a clear indication that she needed immediate medical attention.
At the emergency hospital, veterinarians quickly determined that Artemis was dehydrated and required intravenous fluids and an enema to stabilize her. They also performed X-rays and comprehensive bloodwork to determine what was causing her sudden decline.
The diagnostics revealed that Artemis is facing several significant medical challenges. In addition to her existing asthma, she is anemic, has an elevated white blood cell count indicating inflammation or infection, and is suspected to have a urinary tract infection. Her veterinary team is now working to identify the underlying cause of these abnormalities while providing the treatment she needs to feel better.
For a senior cat, conditions like dehydration, anemia, and infection can become serious very quickly. Thanks to the quick actions of her caregivers, Artemis is receiving the medical attention she desperately needed before her condition became even more critical.
Now, Adopt a Cat Foundation needs your help. Emergency veterinary visits are never planned, and the costs of hospitalization, diagnostic testing, medications, fluids, and follow-up care add up quickly. Artemis still has a road to recovery ahead of her, and every dollar raised will help ensure she receives the treatment and monitoring she needs to regain her strength and continue enjoying her golden years.
Your donation today can make a life-changing difference for Artemis. Whether it's $10, $25, or more, every contribution helps provide the lifesaving care this sweet senior girl deserves.
Please donate today and help Artemis recover from this frightening medical emergency. Together, we can give her the comfort, care, and second chance she deserves.
