About this campaign
I got Arthur in January 2025 as my new endurance/trail prospect after my other horse, Vern, developed arthritis. After weeks of searching, I found Arthur in Texas and fell in love. I spoke with his former owner many times before bringing him home. I am raising funds to determine what is medically wrong with him. Every bit helps!
About two months after Arthur arrived, my trainer noticed he was struggling to coordinate his hind legs. We took him to Midwestern University's Large Animal Clinic, where veterinarians determined he was showing neurological symptoms. Initially, they suspected Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM), but his test results came back negative. The next step in his diagnostic journey is to evaluate his neck and spine to search for the underlying cause.
Arthur is truly my dream horse! He has the sweetest personality and a heart full of joy. He tries to make friends with everyone he meets—even if they’re not quite as enthusiastic as he is! At home, Arthur brings endless smiles with his playful antics. He loves teasing his horse brother Vern, goofing around with his best friend Fox, and playing happily around the arena. Whether he’s begging for treats or just enjoying a good scratch, Arthur is always cheerful and full of life. He’s more than just a horse—he’s a beloved member of the family.
I believe that animals are a lifelong commitment, and I’m doing everything I can to give Arthur the chance at a long, healthy, and happy life. When I brought him home, he had been vetted sound and was still very young—I never expected to be faced with major veterinary bills so soon. Your support would mean the world to me and would help ensure Arthur gets the care he needs to thrive.
