Asa came into this world on February 18th, 2017, I got him when he was 8 weeks old from
a family in north carolina that wasn't expecting babies. I moved from home in North Carolina to Colorado for school and brought him with me as I didn't know anyone in Colorado and was scared. Asa has been with me ever since and he has been my best friend, my guardian, the best thing that's ever happened to me

Asa sleeps at the foot of my bed every night, although he has his own bed :). He loves swimming, fetching sticks, playing with rocks, and long hikes where he can roam free but still be near me. He protects me at home by barking anytime he hears strange noises, and likes to play with his toys, especially his ball. He always is by my side.

It's an $800 vet bill that i can't afford, I make minimum wage and just had a thyroidectomy because I have thyroid cancer, that is a $16,000 bill that will take me years and years to pay off, and I've had to take off 2 weeks because of my surgery, I need help for my bestfriend

I was playing fetch with Asa's favorite toy when he brought it back and the ball had blood on it. I opened his mouth to see a lump on the roof of his mouth near his tooth. At first I thought it must be from when he chews sticks and got a splinter in between his tooth. Brought him to the vet and they said we have to take it out immediately it could be cancerous, since then it has doubled in size.

Asa is a very special boy, he loves to stuff his nose into snow and blow bubbles in water with his nose. Every time I come home he is looking out the apartment window whinning to say hello to me, so no matter if I had the worst day he makes me smile. If I am feeling down he knows and immediately lays next to me and nudges my arm to give me hugs and kisses.
