About this campaign

Most kittens spend their days chasing toys, exploring the world, and discovering what it means to be carefree. Baby Ash has spent hers in constant pain.

This tiny kitten was born with a severe eyelid abnormality that causes her eyelashes to grow inward, scraping against the surface of her eyes every time she blinks. Imagine living every moment with something scratching your eyes—and never knowing what it feels like for the pain to stop.

Because Ash is still so young, she isn't yet old enough for the reconstructive surgery that will permanently correct the problem. But waiting doesn't mean she has to continue suffering. Wild Whiskers has found a way to give Ash the relief she so desperately needs.

An ophthalmologist at Animal Eye Specialty Clinic can perform cryosurgery, a specialized procedure that freezes the eyelash follicles, causing the painful eyelashes to fall out. While this isn't a permanent cure, it will eliminate one of the biggest sources of Ash's daily pain and dramatically improve her comfort until she is old enough for reconstructive surgery.

After the procedure, Ash will still require frequent lubricating eye medications to protect her eyes, but for the first time in her life, she will have the chance to blink without constant irritation.

This unexpected surgery must happen quickly, and Wild Whiskers needs your help to make it possible.

Every donation will help cover the cost of Ash's cryosurgery, specialized veterinary care, medications, and follow-up treatment. Your generosity won't just fund a procedure—it will give a tiny kitten something she's never had before: relief.

Ash deserves to wake up without pain. She deserves to play without constant irritation. She deserves the chance to simply be a happy kitten.

Please consider making a donation today. Every gift, no matter the amount, brings Baby Ash one step closer to the comfort and future she deserves.

Together, we can help this little fighter experience what every kitten should—a life without pain.

7/30/26 Update

We thought Baby Ash was finally turning a corner. But just as we began celebrating this important milestone, everything changed. Ash successfully underwent her cryosurgery procedure to remove the painful eyelashes that have been scratching her eyes every time she blinked.

Shortly after her procedure, Ash began breathing heavily and struggling to get enough air. Her tiny body started shutting down, and she was rushed to the emergency hospital, where she is now fighting for her life.

The veterinary team is working urgently to stabilize her while performing chest X-rays and additional diagnostics to determine exactly what went wrong. At this time, her doctors believe she may have aspirated during her cryosurgery, causing this sudden and life-threatening respiratory crisis.

Right now, every minute matters.

Ash is receiving emergency oxygen support, intensive monitoring, diagnostic testing, and the critical care she needs to give her the best possible chance of recovery. Our team is doing everything we can to help this sweet little kitten pull through.

This heartbreaking emergency has also created a new financial burden that no one could have anticipated. The funds we raised for Ash's eye procedure are no longer enough to cover the emergency hospitalization and lifesaving treatment she now desperately needs.

Please, if you are able, make a donation today. Every dollar will help provide the emergency care, diagnostics, medications, and hospitalization that could save Baby Ash's life.

Ash has already endured more pain than any kitten ever should. She has fought so hard for the chance to live a happy, healthy life. Please help us give her that chance.

Thank you for standing beside Ash when she needs us most.

7/31/26 Update

It is with shattered hearts that we share the news that Baby Ash did not survive.

After successfully undergoing her cryosurgery, we were filled with hope that this tiny kitten would finally begin experiencing life without the constant pain caused by her eyelid condition. But shortly after the procedure, Ash began struggling to breathe and rapidly declined. She was rushed to the emergency hospital, where the veterinary team worked tirelessly to stabilize her and uncover the cause of her sudden collapse.

Despite every effort, Ash's little body could not recover.

Further evaluation revealed that Ash had underlying congenital heart abnormalities that had gone undetected. While it is impossible to know with complete certainty exactly why she crashed, her veterinarians believe these congenital heart issues likely played a significant role in the complications she experienced following anesthesia and surgery.

Sometimes, even when every medical decision is made with love and every precaution is taken, a tiny body is carrying burdens no one could have known were there.Although her time with us was far too short, we take comfort in knowing that Ash was surrounded by people who loved her deeply and fought for her every step of the way. She knew kindness, compassion, and gentle hands. She was never alone.

We are incredibly grateful to every person who donated, shared her story, and kept Ash in their thoughts. Your generosity gave her access to specialized veterinary care and the opportunity to try for a life free from pain. While we did not receive the ending we had all hoped for, your support ensured that everything possible was done for this precious kitten.

Thank you for loving Baby Ash. She may have only been with us for a brief time, but she left paw prints on countless hearts and will never be forgotten.
