My wife & I got Ashtyn when he was 10 weeks old. It’s been a challenge training him, but he’s such a good husky. He’s my best friend. I escaped the Paradise California Camp Fire with him. We live in a house with plenty of room for him to run & be a dog. Just recently he sprained his left foot I think. He’s been limping & can’t run as long or fast or even jump in my car. It’s breaking my heart

We have four dogs total. They all get along just fine. He “acts” like alpha in a playful way but he’s super submissive & very patient with the other dogs. It’s just hard because they always want to play & Ashtyn needs to rest right now & not be on his foot so much. He has a very active life but he’s been resting more because I don’t want to make it worse.

In 2018 my wife & I lost both of her parents & then 6 months later lost our home in the paradise California campfire. We’ve relocated 4 times because of it & we are still struggling because on top of that, I totaled my car, & my wife lost her job a couple months ago.

Ashtyn has been limping slightly for the past month. I took him to the vet & they ran X-rays. Upon looking at them they discovered that his hips are healthy but he tore his ACL & will need to have surgery. He’s only 5 so the vet highly recommends it so he can get back to his normal self. He can’t put any pressure on his leg. He’s whimpering & getting frustrated because of the pain & discomfort.

My dog is special to me because I got him when I was 20 & he’s been by my side through everything. Whenever I have anxiety or feel angry he will come sit on my lap & try to cheer me up so I’m not hurt. He’s just such a good dude. He’s stubborn but cuddles with me on his terms. He talks back & has more personality than most people I know. If you met him you’d fall in love. He has my heart
