Help Us Keep 20 year old cat Asia Comfortable in His Golden Years

Asia is a 20-year-old senior cat whose world changed when his beloved caregiver passed away. Asia came to Adopt a Cat Foundation, where he is now deeply loved by volunteers and will spend the rest of his life surrounded by familiar faces and gentle care.

Asia is incredibly sweet in his old age. He loves being held and petted, seeks out affection, and gets along well with the other cats in the shelter. He’s one of those special seniors who quietly steals your heart the moment you meet him.

Asia has chronic upper respiratory issues which have been managed over time to keep him comfortable. Recently, his symptoms worsened, and he returned to the veterinarian for further diagnostics, including an upper respiratory panel, culture, and senior bloodwork, to help guide the best treatment plan moving forward.

Our goal for Asia is simple: comfort, dignity, and quality of life for however much time he has left.

1/7/26 Update

We have an update on sweet Asia. After his recent veterinary visit and diagnostic testing, Asia’s nasal culture revealed an E. coli infection in his nasal passages. While this sounds alarming, we’re grateful to finally have clear answers — and even more grateful that Asia has already begun antibiotic treatment to target the infection and keep him comfortable.

Despite everything, Asia remains the gentle, affectionate soul we all adore. He still seeks out pets and cuddles, enjoys being held, and finds comfort in the familiar faces of the volunteers who love him so dearly. At 20 years old, every day of comfort matters, and having a treatment plan in place is a meaningful step forward.
