About this campaign
We adopted Aspen from the Colorado Puppy Rescue in August at about 4 months old. Aspen came from a shelter in New Mexico and clearly had a rough start to life. She was sick with residual kennel cough but once that was all cleared her fun playful personality came out and my girls instantly fell in love.
Aspen lives with me and my two daughters who adore her. Aspen is wonderful with both girls and is a very sweet and playful puppy who loves her walks and the dog park. She loves her treats and to be part of everything and anything going on. Aspen loves the dog park and her walks and she really loves pets from anybody.
I am a single mom of two girls and I am currently unemployed due to COVID. I work in the healthcare field and I am looking for work but with one daughter in school and still only going to school part time it has been difficult to find a position.
Aspen began to limp about a month after we had her home. I brought her to the vet multiple times and after multiple xrays and review by specialist it was found that Aspen has OCD in her right shoulder and can only be fixed with surgery. Even with continuous rest and pain meds Aspen does not put weight on her right leg 99% of the time. She continues to be fun and playful but we have to limit her.
Aspen is a pure character with the biggest ears ever seen! She loves to chase her ball in the house and is always looking for snuggles. Both of my girls have a special bond with Aspen. My two year has to say night night to the puppy and give her kisses. My older daughter has severe anxiety at times and Aspen has been an amazing support for her in these times.
