About this campaign

Aspen is a French Bulldog we adopted in May 2022. At the time, her brother Astro was recovering from IVDD surgery, and Aspen was going to be placed in a shelter. We took her in to give Astro a sister and a loving home. She lives indoors with us and Astro. They are inseparable and always sleeping and playing together.

Aspen has had IVDD episodes twice in the past three years. With medication and strict bed rest, she always recovered and walked again. This time her IVDD has worsened and she is no longer improving with meds alone. She currently has an appointment at SCAN (Animal Neurology), and surgery has been recommended, but we cannot afford it.

Aspen is a very special part of our family. When we first adopted her, she was scared and unsure, and it took time for her to feel safe with us. Over time she became loving and protective of our family. She has always been the strong one between our two dogs, which makes it especially heartbreaking to see her so weak now.

We are still paying off our first dog’s IVDD surgery, and between student loans, bills, and vet care, we cannot afford this surgery without help. It is heartbreaking to feel helpless while Aspen is suffering. Having her walk again means giving her life back.
