I keep Astarte with me at nearly all times of the day. Astarte has been prone at certain times to health conditions but typically has robust periods of well-being. Pugs can have common ailments such as eye, ear and skin concerns. I have had severe health and financial hardship and reside in a garage, but keep the space suitable for both me and Astarte. The space is not often used for parking a car

Astarte loves to meet people, dogs, cats & play with children. She lets young babies (2 yr) grab her face and play with her. However, I'm very cautious as I believe children tend to carry risk pugs' infection sensitivity. I suspect this lead to a breakout and I have isolated her from the kids/other animals in the main household. She is my registered mental health service animal.

I teach her what's fun, tastes good, feels comforting, and brings excitement (new balls and runs in the park). She trusts and relaxes when I provide aid, even though I can tell she might be scared at first. I ask her to trust the Vet too, so she knows its safe and healthy.

A month ago I found she had a flea infestation. I gave her drops and removed them. She had sores and scabs. Bathing seemed to help some of the skin. I gave her some of my antihistamine that also seemed to help. She has infections in both ears, one more severe. Her veterinarian wants to evaluate.

I am experiencing a severe health crisis that impairs my function to work and secure housing. I reside in a garage and rely on govt foodstamps and friends to purchase goods and pay bills.
