Athena came into my life as a gift. A close friend got her because I needed something to help me with depression. We live in a small rental out in the country so she has room to run around. She is an exceptionally loving dog that always sparks a smile when we walk around town. The local kids have taken to just running up and hugging her when they see her. "I think that's a great life."

Life around the house is probably boring. We spend most of our free time running around town. She is always excited to get loved on by just about everyone she passes. Sadly recently with covid going on, we have been stuck in the house. She seems to be ok with this though because it gives her extra time for cuddles.

Thanks to all that is going on life is hard as I am sure you all know. Athena is honestly the reason I keep going. I get up and go to work because I have to take care of her. I "socialize" because it makes her happy. I don't know what to do without her. Please help. Begging.

Athena was diagnosed with heartworms just a few days ago and thanks to the outbreak of covid I am struggling financially to get her the treatment she needs. She is a patient at All Creatures Animal Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. I have started donating plasma in an attempt to get the money she needs. If I have to bleed for her then that is fine. But I am worried that it is not going to be fast enough.

Athena is the most loving person in my life. She has been with me since she was a puppy. Athena loves people and is always walking up to everyone she can to get just one more pat on the head. She is calm and gentle. and that has turned out to be her most attractive feature. Kids, Old people, people with disabilities love how she just sits and lets the love happen.
