Athena is a 13-year-old Bichon Friese in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $1,500 for Surgery, Dental Cleaning/Extractions, Precancerous Skin Lesions Removed.

Athena was a rescue from one of the Los Angeles shelters. She was found wandering the streets. The intake name was Peaches and I changed it to go with her new life living with me. You can see in the intake sheet in the photos.I’ve been her guardian since 2021. She’s such a treasure and I’m very fortunate she found her way to me. It’s an honor to be able to help in her ongoing transformation.

Athena is a senior dog. The veterinarian at the shelter initially thought she was 14 but turns out she’s was between 10-12. She was very shy and introverted, believe she was broken-hearted and was very fearful for a long period. She allows me to hold her and for the first time she’s looked me in the eyes. She’s gone through so much. Hoping she continues to feel safe and loved.

She has this funny little way of being proud of herself after she tinkles or does a poopie. As old as she is she scampers and hood and runs back in the house like a puppy. She also has this way of seeing right into your soul. Just look at the video which shows how much pain and loss unknown to me she has experienced in the past. Still gaining her trust. She loves cuddles now which is awesome!

Per Dr Cohen her vet at culver palms animal hospital, Athena needs an operation to remove precancerous lesions. The quote includes blood tests, anesthesia and the procedure plus the pathology results . Approx $1,500.

I have ongoing care seeing an oncologist, my last day of work was in March 2023. I took Athena for her annual exam and she needs this procedure/surgery. Any help you can give is a blessing - many thanks.
